Twenty-Seven Weeks

What an exciting and busy week for our twenty-seven week old baby boy!

I just finished packing away Luke's 3-6 month size clothes. All the pants were way too short, and he is barely squeezing into the 6 month stuff. Time for 6-9 month size clothes for sure! Since it was the week of Halloween, it meant we made the most of his Halloween outfits before packing them away. We started the week with "I heart my mummy."

His tooth keeps growing, and I tried to get a photo of it.
He was more interested in trying to taste my camera.

He is also outgrowing his little infant bathtub.

Now that he's bigger he loves to splash all over the mirror and laugh at himself.

Monster P.J.'s

It wouldn't be a holiday or special event if mom wasn't up late finishing a project for her little one. The night before Halloween I finished making our little astronaut's jet pack.

I also finished up gifts for Luke to give Shannon and our neighbors.

And I finished pasting the letters onto Luke's Halloween canvases

Here are Luke and I on Halloween morning wishing you a happy Owl-o-ween!

Ready to Trick-or Treat

Shannon gave Luke a Halloween book since he can't have treats yet

As soon as I picked Luke up from Shannon's we headed to trick-or-treat at daddy's work. Luke snapped up his astronaut suit and strapped on his jet pack. He also got to hold onto his space shuttle toy, Discovery, Jacob bought him at the Air and Space Museum in Virginia last week.

Then we came home to trick or treat with the neighbors. Jacob and I dressed up as our astronaut's greatest discovery...ALIENS! Just when he thought his parents couldn't be any weirder...

Luke loved the feel and sound of the candy wrappers in our trick-or-treat bowl. It's amazing that he's sixth months and already knows the best part of Halloween is the candy. I tried to pry a pack of Whoppers out of his hand and he screamed/cried. Luke will now let you know when you take away something he likes.

Luke got to try sweet potatoes at Shannon's this week. He loved them (of course). Then, on Friday he had some bananas. He loved them too (of course).

He makes this really cute little humming noise when he wants more. Just listen...

The most wonderful part of this week occurred on Tuesday morning, Oct. 30. Luke's beautiful new cousin, Calista Mary, was born. We were so excited to hear that momma, daddy, big brother Liam, and baby Cali were all doing wonderfully. She might just look a little bit like her big brother...

So, on Saturday morning we hopped in the car to visit our newest family member. I was the youngest in my extended family for 27 years (not kidding). That was when Liam was born. Luke got to be the youngest in his family for a whole six months. He can't wait to meet his newest playmate.

Mom and Cali

Liam decided to have a zero birthday party for Cali. He planned the whole thing, and I drove him to get some decorations. First balloons, then a candle, streamers, and hats.

He decorated cupcakes and we sang Happy Birthday

Luke was happy that Cali's arrival prompted Aunt and Uncle to get out Liam's old baby toys.
He loved his first time in a "Jumperoo"

On the way home Luke slept. At one point he woke up crying. I placed my hand on his cheek to soothe him, he grabbed my arm, and immediately fell back asleep. He did not let go. I thought it was so sweet, that I had to turn on my flash and take a quick pic.
