We had such a fun time doing Luke's first birthday photo shoot with KC Eagle this past week. She photographed Luke's newborn, six month, and year photos. I was just giddy over the images she captured! Here's a sneak peek. There are so many more to come!
This one is just so "Luke." That's our sweet boy.
"How old are you, Luke?"
"I am one!"
One of Luke's birthday presents from mom and dad, a BIG chair!
Our photographer suggested Luke be the next ETrade baby, since he's so stinkin' adorable. He might not be famous, but Luke does have a look-a-like in a commercial. I meant to post this around Superbowl time, when it aired, but I forgot. Take a look and see how this baby resembles our little guy.
It's also quite a coincidence Luke was an astronaut for Halloween, which goes right along with that baby.
The week before last I was looking at Luke in our basement and thinking soon he will be able to reach up to the ping-pong table's edge. Then, this past week I took him downstairs and he was able to grab it. How did he grow so much in just one week?
There were some balloons on the table he was very interested in grabbing.
He was so determined that he began teaching himself ballet. Look at those pointed toes. Perfect form!
Luke did a lot of walking and talking this week too! Since he is walking and also climbing, he ends up with quite a few bumps and scratches on his head. Even when you're right by his side, he still finds a way to crash into something. He's so tough he doesn't cry; he just gets up and keeps going.
Luke still loves saying, "that!" He says it so much he's got all the kids at his sitter's house saying "that" too. Another favorite word right now, is "light." In fact, he is pretty obsessed with lights and light switches. What a funny little guy!
We spent Saturday hopping around several towns to watch cousin Morgan play in a basketball tournament. Luke loved watching Morgan dribble, steal, pass, and score. We watched a game in Fayette, Glasgow, and even had time to stop by Grammy and Grandpa's house in Slater. Grandpa just got back from a trip to see another family member graduate from Marine Corps basic training in San Diego. Grandpa brought Luke a special Marine Corps bear that plays the Marines' Hymn. Luke smiled so big when he heard it play.
