Christmas

Christmas came and went so quickly, and I have plenty of photos to share.

We had fun decorating a gingerbread house.

He ate way more candy than he put on the house.

Thinking very hard about what to put on the roof.

We had breakfast with Santa.

Luke was actually happy to see Santa! He asked him for a purple train.

This kid loves inflatable characters (which he calls "blow-ups" and pronounces "flow-ups"). Hugs for the bear!

He got hours of enjoyment peeling and sticking foam stickers over the holidays. He likes to layer them up really high.

He played some winter games at a Parents as Teachers event.

We went to see the Magic Tree. The pictures never turn out great, but it is a sight to see. He was actually more interested in a little waterfall stream nearby than he was in the tree.

Family selfie.

Luke was so happy to get some Elf on the Shelf P.J.'s. This was the first year he had an Elf, and he named him "Alphie." Well, he actually said he wanted to name him "ABCD," so I helped him think of a name that reminded him of the alphabet. He was very excited to get up and find his elf in the mornings. That's saying a lot for a kid who likes to sleep in and is usually quite grumpy when we wake him up.

Right before Christmas Luke spiked a high fever. He stayed home for two days to recover, but he was still all smiles.

Back to the subject of "blow-ups." Luke is really obsessed with them. We drive around looking for them, and he gets SO excited when he finds one glowing in someone's yard. We had a snowman blow-up in our yard, but the motor went out. Thank goodness Papa came to the rescue and got Luke a 10 foot snowman to replace the broken one.

We spent time in Cape with friends and family in the days before Christmas.

Christmas Eve we opened gifts at Grandma and Papa's.

Then, we ate a nice meal and opened more gifts at Meme and Papa's.

Magna Tiles were a HUGE hit and have provided hours of playtime since they were opened.

Legos have been great too!

Christmas morning we enjoyed time at home. Luke was happy to see Santa brought him the purple train he wanted!

He also got a drum set, Hungry Hippos game, play cash register, and hulk hands from Santa. Mom and dad gave Luke a Superman Lego set, a triceratops towel, and a dinosaur coloring book.

His stocking was filled with blue goggles, a Jack Skellington pin, Minion socks, bath crayons, superhero underwear, and a superhero book.

Luke was really proud of his new Superman ornament!

Luke opened more gifts at Grammy and Papa's later on Christmas. He loved his easel!

Little Picasso

Hot Wheels from Santa

Playing Paw Patrol. He did a great job using the spinner and taking turns while playing his first ever board game.

One can never wear too many band-aids (Ninja Turtles and Cars band-aids were a great gift from grandparents).

Luke loved all the ornaments on our tree, and he was disappointed to see us take it down. He said, "Let's do Christmas again, sometime." We assured him that it would be here again soon.

We also had a fun at a Superhero birthday party right around the holidays. Daddy went as Wolverine (I got to spike his hair), and Luke went as Superman, of course. They were excited to eat these superhero cupcakes.

Luke's favorite part was blasting the piñata. First, he used hulk hands to smash it. Then, when no one could break it, Luke grabbed Thor's hammer and took quite a swing.

New Year's week was spent at home relaxing and...potty training! More on that later, but know that it went VERY well! Let me leave you with this...
