How is it possibly possible? He's 3!
I made Pooh Bear cupcakes to share with his friends at Shannon's. Ever since we went to Disney, he's been very excited about Winnie the Pooh. He loved sharing these with his friends!
That evening we celebrated, just the 3 of us.
He got an Ironman costume, Superhero Play Doh, and a Hulk bobble head toy.
He loved his Superhero Play Doh so much!
Ironman eating his birthday banana split. He loves ice cream and bananas, so it was time to introduce him to this great treat.
Avengers sheets! Now he's sleeping in his bed and not his rocking chair anymore.
Luke's favorites:
Outdoor games: running, jumping, swinging high, bubbles
Indoor play: playing superheroes (he loves pretend play), Play-Doh, coloring, balloons, pinball, playing board games (now loves Hi-Ho Cherry Oh), band-aids
iPad games: Temple Run, Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Pinball Arcade, X-Men
Videos: Over the past few months he started watching the Disney movies (Lion King, Tangled, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Snow White), he also loves Winnie the Pooh. He loves to watch instructional YouTube videos to learn about Play-Doh sets. He also likes watching videos of rides from Disney World and Disney Land.
Characters: Superheroes (Ironman is the current favorite), Winnie the Pooh
Sayings: It's funny listening to the things Luke says. We now notice he's picked up on some of our own sayings. Here's what you'll hear him say over and over again...
Do you want to play Superheroes with me?
This is soooo yummy! and This is sooooo fun!
I just tending (pretending).
I teasing you.
Surprise, it's your birthday! (even if it's not your birthday)
That the food timer? (hoping it's us cooking and not his timer to stop playing and go to bed)
That's potty talk! (which includes booty butt, shake your booty, tooter butt)
Rock me little bit. (before bed)
What ____ mean?
What ____ called?
I'm gonna show you something veeerrrrry funny.
Please, thank you, excuse me, you're excused, and you're welcome (good manners!)
Tricks: He knows his left from right, he knows Superhero moves (cape spin, superhero dive, hulk smash), can dress himself independently, can tell you what letter most words start with by listening to the beginning sounds
Books: I spy books of any kind, Superhero books, I am a Bunny, and pretty much any book you are willing to read with him
Clothing: Superhero costumes! Luke loves to wear his costumes for all occasions (going to the gym, to the store, sleeping, etc.). For a while he went through a stage where he'd wear his pajama top to Shannon's. But, other than that, he doesn't care too much about what he wears. Except, now he requests sweat pants saying that the button hurts on regular pants. He already knows the joys of stretchy pants.
Foods: cantaloupe, popcorn, ice cream, spaghetti, peanut butter and jelly, goldfish, fruit snacks, bananas, broccoli, chicken, marshmallows, M&M's, pizza, cauliflower, avocado to dip with pretzels
Sleeping: Luke slept in his rocking chair for months. I'm not sure what got him going on this, but he did it until we got him Avengers sheets. Bedtime is pretty smooth for him now, and he goes to bed around 8:30pm and likes to sleep until close to 8:00am on weekend mornings. He still takes a 1-2 hour nap daily as well.
Songs: He loves all the usual nursery rhymes and the Winnie the Pooh song (which he knows all the words and sings to). He also likes these pop/rock songs: Uptown Funk, Shake it Off, Black Betty
Height: 40.6 inches, 98th percentile
Weight: 37.6 lbs, 92nd percentile
Of course had to have a Superhero birthday party! Here are a few pics from the big event:
Superhero themed food:
Captain America's fruit shield
Ironman bell peppers
Thor's hammer cheese and pretzel sticks
Hulk rice krispie treats
Love that our guests really went with the theme!
Both Grandmas were Flash!

The kids used Spiderman Webs (silly string) to spray the villains
You can see they did a great job!
Hulk Smashing cones
Rescuing Superheros who are frozen in time

What a fun party for kids and adults!
