Worry

28 weeks meant several important things for us. I had a doctor's appointment (including ultrasound) to check on the placenta and to check baby's weight. We also started birth classes this week. The doctor's appoinment turned out to be a stressful one, because we were told the baby's weight dropped from the 35th percentile to the 28th percentile. So of course we worried, even though the doctor told us not to worry. It increased my worry when she scheduled ultrasounds and fetal non-stress tests with every appointment from here to the due date (every two weeks then every week). Why would they do so much monitoring if this wasn't something to worry about? So we wait and hope the baby continues to pack on the ounces. All other measurements looked good and the placenta has moved up from the cervix so we just keep praying all is well. We were able to distract ourselves from the worry during our first birth class. We had a pretty good time bonding over the thought of Jacob helping me through labor. It was definitively a learning experience. I had seen a childbirth video before, but the passing of the placenta was quite a shock. Didn't imagine it looked quite like that. I also learned that labor isn't just a lay in bed action. There was lots of walking around and even a birthing ball involved. Sounds good to me. Keep me active and focused. Best part of birth class: each session ends with a relaxation massage for me (from Jacob).

Third photo shoot (the last two pictures show baby's face looking straight at us!):

Here's how I'm looking as of today:
